Mark Deaton

Ph.D., LPCC-S, LCADC-S, APSS, MAPC

I began as a counselor with Awareness Counseling & Consulting in Georgetown and Paris, Kentucky, and now have over nine years of supervisory clinical experience, and ten years of substance abuse treatment. I served as Senior Counselor for Recovery works in Georgetown, Kentucky, and I have created, implemented, and supervised the Intensive Out-Patient Program at both Crossroads Counseling Services, Inc. and Riverview Counseling in Frankfort, Kentucky.


I was the Substance Abuse Program (S.A.P.) Coordinator for the Boyle County Detention Center in Danville, Kentucky. There, I worked with patients to establish goals and develop treatment plans, and facilitated process group therapy, 12-step study groups, family social events, and family group therapy activities.


I recently completed my Ph.D. in Addiction Psychology from Cappella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I have a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I am a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS), and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
